NPC Announces New Training Date For Adhoc Staff
In preparation for the 2023 Population and Housing Census, the National Population Commission (NPC) has released new training dates for enumerators and supervisors. This announcement came after a workshop held on March 27, 2023, at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State. The workshop was attended by the Chairman and Members of the NPC who discussed various census-related operations and processes.
During the workshop, it was decided that the State Level DQM and Specialized Workforce Refresher Training would occur from April 3 to April 6, 2023. Additionally, the training for ad hoc employees was rescheduled to April 25 to April 30, 2023. The census night is slated for May 2, 2023, while fieldwork will begin on May 3 and continue until May 6, 2023.
The Chairman and Federal Commissioners of the NPC emphasized the significance of the workshop in ensuring the census’s success. They hoped that the workshop would provide them with updated and comprehensive information on the state of the census operations, enabling them to effectively oversee and coordinate the entire census process at all levels.
The NPC also considered religious events typically held in April while selecting the census date. The first week of May was chosen to avoid any potential conflicts with these events.
Overall, the NPC is dedicated to ensuring a successful and accurate census in 2023. The workshop and training dates are crucial steps in this process, as they will equip enumerators and supervisors with the knowledge and skills necessary to carry out their duties effectively.
