The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), under the transformative Leadership of its Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, has set a remarkable example in the pursuit of innovation and technological advancement in Nigeria.

With a vision to promote local content, industrial growth, and economic independence, NASENI has made significant strides in the development of groundbreaking products.

From the production of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) cars and tricycles to lithium batteries, solar-powered streetlights, solar irrigation pumps, modern laptops, and telecommunication gadgets, NASENI’s achievements are nothing short of inspiring.

These innovations are tailored to meet the needs of Nigerians while reducing dependence on foreign imports. With over 34 products successfully developed, a testament to the dedication and ingenuity driving NASENI’s mission.

During a recent interactive session spearheaded by one of NASENI’s brand ambassadors, Shuaibu Adamu from SEDI-Minna, Niger State, a resounding call was made to grassroots communities and stakeholders nationwide: patronize locally made products.

This call, now amplified, resonates with the core of Nigeria’s economic aspirations. Supporting NASENI’s innovations is not just about buying a product; it is a bold step toward national development, job creation, and technological empowerment.

Why Should You Support NASENI’s Products.

  1. Economic Empowerment: By purchasing NASENI’s locally made products, we empower Nigerian engineers, scientists, and manufacturers. This will create jobs, reduce poverty, and strengthen the local economy.
  2. Affordability and Accessibility: NASENI’s products are designed with Nigerians in mind. Their affordability and accessibility make them ideal for grassroots communities and urban centers alike.
  3. Energy Efficiency and Sustainability: Products such as solar-powered streetlights and lithium batteries are environmentally friendly, promoting sustainability and reducing the country’s carbon footprint.
  4. National Pride: Supporting locally made goods fosters a sense of pride in our nation’s abilities and showcases Nigeria as a leader in technological innovation on the global stage.
  5. Reduction of Import Dependency: By using homegrown solutions, we reduce reliance on expensive imports, conserve foreign exchange, and strengthen Nigeria’s self-reliance.

The Role of Grassroots Participation

During this advocacy,

NASENI Brand Ambassadors in Attendance, Mr. Abdulwahab Quadir Adeniyi, Engr.Ummulkulthum Suleiman, hail

Also in attendance, Engr.Abubakar Takuma and Engr.Ibrahim Usman Agaie From SEDI-MINNA emphasized the importance of grassroots participation in sustaining NASENI’s momentum and urged Nigerians from all walks of life to embrace the agency’s products and see them as a reflection of their potential. Local leaders, farmers, youths and entrepreneurs were called upon to champion the adoption of these innovations.

They noted, “NASENI’s products are not just items; they represent the hard work, ingenuity, and resilience of Nigerians. Every time you purchase a NASENI product, you’re investing in the future of this country.”

Building a Technological Future

Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu’s leadership at NASENI has demonstrated that Nigeria has the capacity to compete globally in science and engineering. However, the success of this vision requires collective action. From government agencies to individuals, everyone has a role to play in building a self-reliant nation.

NASENI’s innovations are more than technological marvels—they are a clarion call for unity, collaboration, and progress. By supporting these products, we send a strong message: Nigerians believe in Nigerian solutions.

A Call to Action

As we approach 2025, the goal of introducing new products is within reach. But this can only be achieved if Nigerians rise to the occasion. Let us rally behind NASENI’s innovations, patronise locally made products, and spread the word across our communities.

The future of Nigeria’s technological advancement depends on us. Let us embrace change together and be part of the success story.
